I suppose there’s a lot we can all “just say,” can’t we? After all, living in America, many of us have been given the freedom of speech. Moreover, with the rise of technology, we’ve now been given the means to “just say” as much and as frequently as we desire.
It wasn’t until recently, while browsing this website for an intriguing topic, that I glossed over the tag line “America in the eyes of the world.” I couldn’t help but think, to a degree, how inaccurate the headline is. Although it may be true that a variety of individuals who contribute to this website come from all over the world, I couldn’t help but consider all the individuals who, due to cultural, religious or political reasons, are not able to do so.
It’s so easy to forget how fortunate we are to be able to discuss political, religious, cultural and racial issues on such a readily available forum. In fact, come to think of it, the topics upon which I’ve offered insight and the majority of the topics on this website, deal with these very issues. However, there are many countries around the world where individuals would be persecuted, or more seriously, tortured and killed for offering any form of critique or opinion.
With that being said, I “just want to say” how thankful I am to be part of a country and a website that gives me the freedom to speak my mind and share my thoughts with others, as a collective community.
